Starting too many projects at the same time. That is wrong. You see one opportunity this week, get excited and then the following week another opportunity comes along and your thoughts are with this new opportunity. This is one of the major reasons why people don’t make any progress.

Once you completed the research phase for that particular project, don’t start anything new. Work on the details of the project. Naturally, people that are just starting their online business do not know all the details. Still, it’s not the reason to start several projects at the same time. I have to admit, I am guilty of this problem. It does happen when you first start doing something new. To tell you the truth, I think it can not really be avoided if you start online activities without your own product to sell. That’s why it is very important to find one project and concentrate on it. Once the proven system that works is found – you need to follow it and to make it work for you.

Trying to do everything by yourself. Online money making requires people to have several skills. If you do not have these skills or do not want to learn them, does it mean you should stop thinking about making money online? That would be a mistake. Outsourcing tasks is a way to go in this case. It can be very expensive. One of the ways to outsource – participation in the forums and finding people that offer these types of services. If you happen to have a certain skill and you find another person that knows something different – you can create a bartering type of alliance – you exchange the skills. There are other outsourcing methods available. Stick around, we will discuss these methods in the future.

Using expensive website development – big mistake today. First of all, graphic intensive website that does not have too much content – not considered to be a ‘good user experience’. What is really a ‘good user experience’ and how do you create it? Article that has an advice, teaches something, shares experience, contains interesting facts, and has an interesting video – that is ‘good user experience’. This opinion is expressed by Google. And we have to take that into consideration. That is if we want any part of the organic traffic that Google sends to our blogs/websites. What is the approach to efficient blog design?

Some people make a lot of money online, some go broke. Let’s try to uncover major reasons why people do not succeed online, get disappointed and quit.

In my online career I’ve seen different cases. Let’s talk about some mistakes people make while trying to develop money making methods.

People become victims of scams – they believe the lies spread by dishonest people that proclaim they became rich overnight. These people have no idea how to make money online and they have no desire to learn. It is not always easy to understand what is a lie and what is a good money making opportunity. A lot in this process depends on the experience. If the knowledge and experience are not there yet – it is very easy to get disappointed and quit.

Taking too long to start your online career. Are you trying to learn everything you think you need to start a career? Are you trying to read every article you can find, every sales letter sent to you? If the answer is ‘yes’, stop doing it to yourself! That’s a mistake. Learn the necessary skills. The rest will come to you while you are actually making money. People with this type of mentality are not really procrastinators. They are perfectionists. Perfectionism is a close relative of procrastination. Besides, these people suffer from information overload. It did happen to me at some point. I unsubscribed from almost all newsletters. That released the time for actual money making.

Charging for the right to sell products of a company. If a company created or carried a high-demand product people wanted, wouldn’t it be happy to sell it to customers for what it’s worth? Of course, it would. The way I see it: if the company charges for the right to sell the product, not the product – it is not offering anything worth of my and my customers’ attention.
